Monogrammed Thanks!

love this paper! It was one of our DSP's from the spring catalogue and the colours were discontinued in the Fall Catalogue, although the design was not. You can buy this same design in different colours. I needed some thank you cards and so...

I pulled out the Justright stamps I borrowed from a friend. I made two different styles using the same font, dsp, embossing folder and ribbon. This one went to my friend Brandi who surprised me with a gift bag of the cutest and most delicious cupcake, a gift certificate to the cutest shop called La petit' artiste (awwww...) and the cutest card!!! I was feeling kinda blue that day and WOW, you have no idea what adorable creativity can do for one's spirit!

You cannot really see the cuttled background on these pictures, but they are there! :) I applied stickles to the monograms and maybe shouldn't have because the ink ran a little.

Thanks for looking!

I cuttlebug'd the paper with allegro folder, layered the sentiment and sponged the edges, tied a satin ribbon layered with organdy...added some dew drops on the corner,
loved how it turned out! what do you think?

...to You from Me...

The challenge was to use a stamp set you haven't inked...well, here is mine!! I have hung onto this past sell-a-bration set for two years!!! Gasp...I had to trim and mount it before I could ink the image.
I love the outline images in this set, so festive and fun! I coloured the images in using prismas and gamsol, cut into the stamped image with my nestabilities, embellished with ribbon, dew drops and clear stardust pen.
This card is going to one of my pen pals on SCS...hope she likes it!

K&Co joins House Mouse

Another cardbase from K&Co. paired with an adorable HM stamp! love this one especially because I LOVE coffee! There's a new Cafe coming in the near future and I cannot wait to go and see, smell and sit in the aroma of Java...mmmmm~
Tied a polka dot sheer ribbons on this card. I cuttle embossed the Background strip with one of my latest folders.

Let's add more Pink...

These card bases are K&Co. a bargain I found at Michaels some time ago for $1. Can't beat that! I made several versions using this, adding just the coordinating cardstock, ribbon and stamps.

There you have it, with some images from MFT's Say Charge! I used SU's tag punch and layered it. The May Arts Ribbon always makes a wonderful addition to cards. Did I say I love ribbon too? :)

Thanks for looking!

Original Urban Garden~

Urban Garden is one of the new Designer Series papers from Stampin UP! I love the combination of colours in this pack...not quite navy,Kiwi Kiss,Baja Breeze and Gray. Combine that with our new silhouettes it is gorgeous!
This card however, uses CTMH's Free Spirit set, Prima flowers and sheer ribbon from my hoarded stash, but we won't dwell on that. Lol...because I love ribbon!

~Get Well~

Gosh, this might as well be for our National Economy...but Don't lose heart! The Lord our God, He is mighty to save...Let's link our prayers together and press into His Grace.
Wow, I have not blogged for soooo long! went Awol for a time...now I am back! it makes me happy. lol:)
This card was a bit of a trial run...I love the look of vintage lace on cards,(unashamed, I'm a Debbie Olson wannabe!) so when I came across this bolt at one of my favourite antique flea markets it was a purchase I couldn't pass up at 25 cents. woo hoo!!! Honestly, IRL, it looks more fabulous than it does here.
My dear friend Brandi gave me these luscious papers and finally cut into them! I absolutely love paper...Thanks Brandi!!!♥
I paired it with this rubon from Rhonna Farrar, positively no stamping (gasp...)and added some of these buttons and voila, I would send it to me if I was under the weather.
Thanks for looking!

A Sweet Shore Penguin!

This little guy is so adorable! Who could resist not colouring him?? I recieved several stamped images from Brandi a couple of weeks ago after a stamp/scrap excursion, we fell in love with this little penguin...need I say more?!
For this card, I cased a 3x3 card that Brandi made for me and made it into a full size card. I changed the colours, but kept the layout,DP,embossing folder and added some of the yummy ribbon I bought from Anne.
Notice the wavy embossing down the side of this card...this is using Cuttlebugs border folders that I got as a gift from Brandi!!! Wasn't that sweet of her? The DP is from Imaginisce, coordinated with the little penguins.
Finally, a closeup of the little fellow, He is coloured using rubbing alcohol and SU inkpads, added Crystal effects to his feet/body to give him some dimension (Brandi did that...wink)and used my stickles to his popsicle! How adorable is that?

Thanks for looking!

Figgy Pudding Sock Monkey~

This monkey made his debut in July...what do you know, I am only now showing his face on my blog. He falls in one of those "gotta love him, he's so ugly" categories!
Seriously though, I had to preorder him when he showed up in the SU catalogue...now he is available with the cutest accessories!!! BTW, this was my shoebox swap design a few weeks ago...loved monkeying around with old and new friends!
This is a close up view of our poor dear. I gave him some height using our dimensionals. He was titled "drunken monkey!!" because I coloured him using rubbing alcohol and pulling colour from the ink pads...I used Basic Grey's Figgy Pudding paper from last year. The colour is of course my favourite Chocolate Chip.

Materials list: SU!Sock Monkey set, Basic Grey Figgy Pudding DP, Chocolate Chip, Basic Brown inks, Soft Sky In-colour from last year, American Crafts Brads, Martha Stewart Ribbon was a perfect addition. (gasp...who??)Cuttlebug'd the background using distressed stripes and punched out the scalloped circle using Giga punch.

Kincade Pastels

Wow, This one took time...which always competes for other work (and play) lol...I bought this stamp on one of my excursions with friends a few Saturdays ago. Fell in love with the idea and technique explained to me by the store owner... hmmm, I could certainly do that! I said. I usually stay away from images that are so detailed, but this one I had to try. Of course I didn't need much encouragement from my friends and I made my purchase!!

I worked with it a little to get a crisp image using Stazon Ink. Then applying the pastels took some time...I managed to adhere the main image upside down (oops) on the scalloped barely banana and had to pull it off thus creating lines where the chalk split. You can see the fine broken lines that are not suppose to be there.

With some time and practice, this should come out beautiful!! what do you think?

Priceless Scripture~

Recently, I spent part of my day stamping, sharing ideas and eating with friends :) That in itself is priceless and to be treasured! Of course I only ever get minimal stamping done because I spend time visiting or watching what everyone else is doing!I did manage to make two cards and one partway done..Mostly trying out different designs for an upcoming swap with friends I met or will soon meet from SCS!!! So looking forward to that!
This card features SU's Priceless stamp set, I had stamped a whole sheet of CS from the Regals palette - Always Artichoke, Regal Rose and So Saffron inks. I wanted to use it in a card and came up with this simple card. Used D'vine swirls embossing folder on the card base and then added my layers. Will I use that design? hmm...probably not.
This one is my favourite (out of these two)and this scripture is a personal favourite! I love to sponge my cards for added dimension and rich colour! I wheeled the background with the matching jumbo wheel (I hardly use wheels, but we won't go there)Then I added my layers and using both flowers from SU's Doodle that, I layered them and highlighted them with Signo Gel Pen. Of course, I couldn't let it alone without some dew drops, my latest fave embellishment.
Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting!

*Home of the Free*

I made these cards last weekend and forgot to upload them. These cards were sparked by the 4th and mostly due to a new background stamp set I bought from my friend Krista. I was quite anxious to test them out, loved how they "tested" and must've put them away after I was done. Came across the cards as I was pulling paper out the other day. In my haste to photograph them, the angle is kind of wonky but I assure you they are the regular size and shape.
This card uses CTMH Brilliant Backgrounds and Starstruck sets. I combined them with Night of Navy, Real Red and Very Vanilla CS, Night of Navy and Real Red Inks, our awesome SU star punch! cuttlebug's distressed stripe folder.
The patterned paper on this card is from Me&My Big ideas paper stack Coastal Culture, along with CTMH Brilliant Backgrounds and Starstruck sets, a little distressing and some red jute.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!!!

For a Special Birthday Girl ~

In a faraway land, a special girl celebrates her birthday with her friend Jess...far from the usual fanfare of Daddy's breakfast, DQ icecream cake, presents, Olive Garden and finally fireworks...the family all gathered around the computer texting on facebook, writing birthday hugs and messages. That'll have to suffice until December...except...

for this card on its way in a little box full of goodies!!! Happy Birthday!!!

This card uses one of my favourite images from Rubber Romance Diva gals...Used another favourite - Basic Grey 6x6 pads Sugared line that I ran through the swiss dots cuttlebug folder, added some Robins's Nest Dew Drops. The birthday girl rubon is from Rhonna Farrar greeting tins. The CS is heavily sponged on the edges using the cat's eye chalks chestnut roan.

Enjoy your 4th everyone!!!

Croppin' Bella style~

Another version of Bella with hints of pink and green. Love the bright colours of these buttons. The ribbon is an AC Moore purchase, most likely one of those times I needed to use a 40% coupon.

A closeup view of this card...loved the gateway fold and then layering it with some patterned paper from K&Co mat packs. Again, I paper pieced bella's dress and croppin' tote with matching paper. She is watercoloured using Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa and Old Olive for her hair bow and shoes.

Thanks for looking...I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Stampin' Bella style ~

this little lady was traded from the SCS forum...wish I could say I look this stylish going to a stamping/scrapping event. Though I have learned not to take the entire collection of "stuff" I still wind up looking like I am on a camping trip...Oii!
I stamped her on Naturals white CS using Stazon, watercoloured her pulling colour off the lids of inkpads and then paperpiecing her dress and rolling tote to match her outfit.

Here is a closeup version with a view of Robin's Nest glass beads. I picked these up at Rubberbuggy in Strasburg a few weeks ago. The rectangle is the popular nestabilities and embossed using the same die.
Thanks for looking!

America...God shed His grace on thee!

oh Beautiful for Spacious skies...I love that song, it never ceases to provoke some tears from deep within! Pray for our Nation, we need God's favour more than ever.

This flag is from the CTMH's Home of the Free. I stamped the image twice, one in Real Red and the other in Brilliant Blue. I cut the stars portion of the flag and mounted it onto the real red stripes. So cool. I stamped AMERICA in brilliant blue over top the flag.
Using my scor-pal, inspired by stamping pal Brandi, I pulled it out and tried a few different folds with some of my cards. I have been looking for ways to use my embossing numbers collage folder and why not on this card? Love the simplicity of this card and the ease in putting it together.

Sacrifice, Honour and Duty...

Love these images from Close to My Heart! I ordered these from my friend Krista when I was looking for Military related stamps. CTMH revamped their military stamp line and these are just perfect! I combined this image with Cuttlebug's diamonds in the rough embossing folder, SU's jumbo eyelets and black gingham ribbon.
River Rock CS is perfect for these military images.
I used a monday Mojo sketch layout for this card. Not sure if I followed all the rules but worked for me. I layered the helmet and boots together on River Rock and Naturals White and stamped everything with Black Stazon. Love the crisp images!
A closeup view of the dogtags... you can stamp the words that come with this stamp set on the tags, how clever is that?!
My son is graduating from the Marines in just two weeks!!! How time flies...although I must admit that it seems to crawl some days. We are so excited to see him and celebrate his successes while in training!

Friends put Delight into My Day ~ thanks Brandi!

This is such a beautiful card!!! love the colour, layout and the texture!
This card appeared in my mailbox the other day and what a delight! Check out Brandi's blog(link on the sidebar) ;=)
She used Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava, Whisper White CS and Chocolate Brown ribbon and jute. The technique looks like ink resist, embossing and added bling to the centres of flowers. Gorgeous! and me, the lucky recipient!
Thanks for visiting!

Toadally Unfroggetable Waterfall card

This card is so much fun to make! A friend directed me to this card and walked me through the process...(confessions are good for the soul) So then, in my excitement I introduced my stamp group to this adorable card!

The finished card...what makes it waterfall? the scored lines that each stamped square is adhered to. The ribbon on the bottom is pulled to see each square.Watch as each square is pulled to reveal the next image.

on the second square I stamped this googlie-eyed snail...cute huh?

this mushroom makes you think of fairy tales & prince charming...

finally the sentiment that is just sooo adorable...Have I toad you lately that I love you? ...awww...then a final word to the recipient...you're unfroggetable.♥

How sweet is that?

Beautiful Airmail~

What can a mother say when she gets Airmail from a daughter in a far away land?? Of course I was thrilled and an onslaught of emotions filled my soul...I was altogether happy, so very proud of her, sad because I miss her terribly and I laughed myself silly at the way she pens those words and gives a vivid picture...

She is resourceful, artistic and thoughtful...She has a very limited supply of pretty paper, adhesive etc... Made me look at my stash of supplies in a different light tonight. But guess what? She turned out this card from markers I sent along with her...I am so honoured to be her mumsy cherie♥

Yummy cards...

The sounds of spring are upon us...love the chirping of birds and signs of new life everywhere. The tulips are dazzling yellow and I saw buds peeking from the azaleas in front of the driveway.
Haven't had too much time to stamp much less be creative these days...however, I sneaked this cute yummy card in last week for a letter I had to mail. This card sports paper from K&C0. Marcella photo mat and Junkitz Salsa. The stamps are the adorable Hero Arts mini sets. Ribbon from my stash. The cutout idea for the ribbon knot came from some talented stamper/designer (sigh...not me)

Always is the name of this set from Stampin UP! I paired it with the scallop design from Friendly Flowers in the current mini...love how it turned out.

This is another set I recently purchased from our wheelin promo...This set is called Pun Fun and I cut the sentiments apart from the images to make it multi functional.
Thanks for looking and visiting!

Long Overdue ~ life happened!

While I love to scrap, stamp and blog, life has a way of moving us along like those moving walkways...Alot of things have changed around here.

My daughter is in India and regales us with tales of her new surroundings! If you get a chance click on her name on the sidebar, you will be mesmerized by her writings. My son left for Basic Training this week...he left "a boy" and will return "a man"...We will see him in July♥

I will break my long overdue post with this layout I did back in February! Love this picture from last Spring (..ahem...I'm behind, I know)

I used American Crafts paper, Chocolate Chip CS, Thickers, SU!Satin Ribbon, Felt Flowers,Floral brad, Coluzzle folder files.

This is a favourite shot I took of my daughter last year for her senior pictures.

The paper company escapes me but it was one that came out last year...SU!so saffron and certainly celery CS, CTMH Big Pinks, buttons, Heidi Swapp rubons and brads.

There you have it...more posts to come later. Thanks for looking!

...bella that is ~ I traded for this little lady on the SCS trade board and finally inked her for a special card I needed. I made this for my DD who will be travelling in the next few days.♥

I coloured "bella" using the gamsol technique. Added some dimension to the globe using some of our dimensionals. For some sparkle (IRL) I used the stardust gel pen.

Materials used: Globetrotter Bella, Prisma Colour pencils, gamsol, ribbon, brads, Basic Grey Stella Ruby 6x6 paper pad, Old Olive CS.

Thanks for looking! Have a great weekend!

Basic Grey Pop-Up~

Another sample of the pop-up card using Basic Grey 6x6 pad. Instead of stamping the flowers, I dipped into my stash of primas and layered them using brads to hold them together.

I love these downsized Basic Grey paper pads! Perfect for cardmaking and also for mini scrapbook projects:)

Inside View...

Materials:CC Rubberstamps, SU!rubons, ribbon from WalMart, Primas, Brads,MM brad, stampendous class-a-peels.
